The shelter was created in 2000 by Asey Serpinska. Now Asya's granddaughter, Maria, manages the shelter.
It all started when Asya Vilhemnivna was walking home and noticed how homeless animals were being handed out on the street. Then she began to learn more about the state of homeless animals in Ukraine. The woman found like-minded people and they rented the territory of the cowshed in Gostomel, and a little later bought this premises and the land around it.
- The most difficult thing in the work of the shelter is
Work with people. There are a lot of animals and people who want and know how to help - very few. People have a stereotype that shelters are the solution to their problems. People do not want to take responsibility for the lives of animals on themselves, they want to shift it all onto the shoulders of shelters.
